HEROES COLLIDE!

A mechanical whirr and a soft vibration brought Natalie back to consciousness. She had no idea how or when she fell asleep. She tried to open her eyes but couldn’t, they were glued shut with sleep gunk. She brought her arms up to rub the sleep from her eyes and hit her elbow against something. When she was able to see she realized that she wasn’t in a bed. She stared out a small window at solid rock. She put her hands on the door in front of her and looked down. She was in some sort of black stretchy jumpsuit that should have been killing her in the intense heat that she should have been feeling being in an enclosed space for so long. But she was surprisingly cool. She hit her fists against the door, making a small dent, but pulled her hand back when pain shot through her knuckles. Her memory slowly started to come back. She knew who she was. Her name was Natalie… and she wasn’t completely “of Earth”. She wasn’t like all of her friends, but she couldn’t remember what made her different. She looked around her small… place. It wasn’t like there were any people around to compare herself to. She punched the door in front of her, making another dent, and growled.

A soft rumble came from outside her compartment. She pressed herself against the window but couldn’t see anything, as if wherever she was had been buried in solid rock. But she could feel the rumbling getting closer. Suddenly the stones in front of the window started to splinter and crack. She started smacking her palms against the door and as she did the stones fell away from the window letting a little more light in, but not that much. She heard a muffled voice from outside.

“Hello?” She tried to get on her tippy toes and hit the door again, causing it to creak.

She heard a yell, then the door creak again as slowly a fluffy head peeked into the window. “Hello?” As soon as her eyes met the blue eyes of a Border Collie she let out a scream. The Border Collie jumped back and also screamed, falling out of her line of sight. She pushed against the door and it flew open. She peeked out and realized she was suspended in the roof of a rather large cave. She saw the Border Collie splayed out on the floor, dressed in military style civilian dress with a star-spangled bandana tied around the top of his head.

He sat up and rubbed his head, and when he realized Natalie was watching him scrambled up to his feet. “HEY!”

Natalie jumped out of the pod and landed on the floor in front on him barefoot on the damp sandy floor with a loud thump. She took a step forward into the small stream of light peeking through the distant mouth of the cave and looked the dog dead in the eyes. “What?”

There was the slightest glimmer of fear in the dog's eyes, but he extended his paws out to his sides and quickly clapped them shut.
Natalie winced in surprise as rocks came loose from the walls of the cave and rained at her from all sides. The rocks all shattered into pieces as Natalie looked down at herself in bewilderment. “Whoa…”

The dog’s eyes widened and he backed away. “Ohhhhh dog…”

Natalie looked up at him and brushed herself off. “Where do you think you are going?”

He turned around and started to run towards the mouth of the cave. “I am so sorry! I am not hostile I swear!” He tripped over a rock and hit his knee against the ground as she suddenly appeared in front of him. He whimpered and gripped his leg, looking up at her with a pitiful expression. “I am so sorry. I wasn’t trying to hurt you. I just was caught off guard.”

Natalie watched him grovel for a few seconds before squatting on the ground next to him. “Probably no more than I am… I don’t even know how I got here…” She looked around the cave as the dog sat up. “Or where here is…”

The Collie looked up at her, still holding his leg. “We’re in Canada. I would tell you exactly what city and province but I don’t think anyone has known that for a long time…”He looked at her. “W-Who the heck are you?”

Natalie sat down next to the dog. “Natalie.”

“Natalie Who? How did you do all of that?” Cason groaned as he saw blood dripping slowly from a small cut on his leg. “Ummm… And can you hand me that bag over there?” He waved his paw over to his bag which had fallen off when he tripped.

Natalie reached over and handed it to him. “I’m not sure. I don’t remember anything except my name.” She watched the dog fumble with his bag and pull out a red bag with a plus on it. “What are you?”

The dog chuckled and hissed as he dabbed up the blood with a cotton swab. “Nice. I am intrigued by who you are and what you can do and all you’re curious about is what I am?”

Natalie put her hands up. “Whoa! I didn’t mean any offense by it. I’ve just… not seen anyone like you before.”

Cason shrugged as he dabbed the cut with another cotton swab he had dipped in rubbing alcohol. “I am a Border Collie. And my name is Cason.” He hissed a little.

Natalie winced as she watched him. “Sounds like that hurts.” She hesitated before using his name “Cason… Do you need some help with that? Is it broken or anything? I can take you to a hospital…”

Cason let out a laugh. “Okay then. Someone must have been inside that claustrophobia-inducing death trap for a while.” He gestured up to the pod she was in.

Natalie’s eyes followed his up toward the pod, but her attention was caught by a makeshift rock staircase that seemed to have jumped from the ground leading up to the pod. She then looked back at Cason. “Wait… Are you a superhero?” After she asked this, so many other questions popped into her head. There were so many pressing matters. Like what happened while she was in that pod. Or maybe she should ask how she ended up in the pod… But why would Cason know that?

Cason listened to her contemplate question after question out loud without her realizing she was even talking out loud before he interrupted her. “Well… Maybe I can answer some of those questions for you… What’s the last thing you remember happening?”

Natalie scratched her head and thought hard, and just when she was about to give up her mind started piecing things together. “It was after we helped stop that huge collision of several alternate universes! The Red Sox had won their third World Series in a row, they came out with that Prince movie…” She thought a little harder. “And Lana Luthor was running for president.”

Cason’s ears flattened and he coughed, taking a quick sip from his canteen before offering it to Natalie. “We have a lot to catch up on.”

DID YOU LIKE THAT? It's all a part of a possible patreon series I am working on. This is only the first story. I have so many others that I will be posting as soon as I get it up and running! No links yet, but I am hoping there will be some links in the future!

Peace!

Korey Scott Interview

This has been a long time coming.

Korey: IS IT FINALLY MY TURN?!

Yep! Luckily I asked for questions back in December so I have a whole list for you!

Korey: It's about GOSH DARN TIME. Kamryn bragged about telling people deep dark secrets for months. You know if you want to know a secret about her, I have a good one. She's...

NO. No, I am so sorry, but I am going to start asking questions. Kamryn will tell when she is ready. First question... If you had to pick one place in the world to go where would it be?

Korey: I'd love to see another planet. Maybe Mars when it is habitable in like thirty years? But as far as on earth, I'd love to go to Coachella.

Wow. That's a super basic thing to say.

Korey: Pretty rich for a guy whose only plans for the future involve possibly going to a furry convention.

Touche... Are you a dark chocolate, milk chocolate, or white chocolate sort of person?

Korey: I don't really eat chocolate too often. Which kind do they put in those health bars from Whole Foods?

I think that might be dark chocolate... Correct me later if you find out I am wrong!

Korey: That! Dark chocolate. It's super rich and it's a bit healthier than the other two. I would know. I saw it on Tumblr.

We've talked about believing things on the internet. Anyway! Do you like the outdoors or the indoors better?

Korey: I like the indoors.

Don't you fly a lot?

Korey: Just because I can fly, doesn't mean I do it all the time.

What do you think of pineapple on pizza?

Korey: I think it is a disgrace to humanity.

Do you hate it just because Kamryn loves it?

Korey: No. I am just allergic to pineapples.

Oh yeah... Forgot about that.

What's your favorite sandwich?

Korey: I kinda make my own. I start with a BLT on pumpernickel bread. Then I add avacado, swiss cheese, and banana peppers. It is a really good sandwich.

If you could change your name, would you? And what would you change it to?

Korey: I don't really think I'd want to change my name. Is that weird? I guess I really just like the name I was given... I don't know. Like unless I can legally change my name to Dwayne Johnson...

Nope, We cannot do that. Favorite genre of video game?

Korey: War games. Call of Duty, Halo, Gears of War.

Okay. Now we'll move on to some tough questions. What disappoints you the most?

Korey: The way I act around my sister... She's made a change or two in the way she lives and we haven't really had a chance to about it. So I have been a little bit weird around her. I don't like it, but I don't know how to stop.

What is your greatest fear?

Korey: The last thing I want to do is lose Kamryn. She's the only thing left. And she doesn't seem to care. She's always putting herself in dangerous situations.

How's it feel to be kidnapped?

Korey: It's helped me sort of find my sister. I will say getting tackled and chloroformed is not very fun though... So not very good.

What would you say your biggest long-term goal in life is?

Korey: Well before being kidnapped, I was trying to get into an athletic program down at our community center. They were doing a course on personal training. I might try to pursue that.

How high have you flown? Is it peaceful up there?

Korey: I haven't tried to fly like HIGH high... But as far as peaceful it's pretty okay as long as you watch out for airplanes.

Thank you so much for answering all these questions!

Korey: No problem, dude. Kamryn won't see this right?

Thanks for reading. No character interviews are currently planned yet. Want to try and get back to the swing of things. Have a good day!

An update on me / Nerdy Obsession Update

New ideas and stories always seem to come at you like a whirlwind. Especially in the artistic field. Ideas can be as deep and immersive, or light and easy. And fortunately, these past few weeks have been a brainstorm extravaganza as one could call... Or something else. Who cares?! I did write stuff and I am super proud. I will release some information about a project or two soon.

There's not going to be an apology for empty posts here on this. Because I am just glad I can post this here and now.

As for me, myself, and I! I am getting ready to (hopefully) attend college again. This time, maybe cutting back on the eating and paying more attention to details in writing and asking for help when I need it. I have also been trying to be more social while not forgetting to do the things I need to do.

Work is good as well. I have held this job for ten to eleven months now and I am super glad I have made it this far.

A nerdy obsession post will be here within an hour or so of me posting this! In which I will let you in on some of my new favorite things that I may or may not be a little behind on because I am always the last to show for the cool trends and stuff! This post will feature my thoughts on some crazy developments in the Arrowverse, a dive into a certain alternate lifestyle character's story, some real Avenging, my love for a certain evil queen, and of course I will SCREAMING MY UPSET about not being able to finish PLL: Perfectionists Season One!

I will also be posting my analysis of the Escape The Night All-Star cast and possibly a few predictions/theories, a review about one or two blockbusting movies that everyone was talking about a few months ago, and some possible news down the road. Stay tuned.

Why am I not/was not as proud of Phantom Janitor?

It was my first ever published work. And at one point I was super proud of the work I had done.
My friends were reading and mostly saying good things. And I was really glad to hear all of it. Even the bad things. After all, the only way a writer can grow is through criticism and critique right?

And I am pretty sure that's not why. And it's not that I hate it either. I love the characters in the story and I am still working out their entire lives afterward and before. I have so many things I wish I could put into the book that will make people smile.

Why do I still feel such dread when sharing it then? If I love the work I did... But do I? I was so proud of it, but then I read it for myself. There are so many holes in the story.  Things I had neglected to think about when I was writing. Things that could have been easily fixed after several more run throughs of the manuscript.

I just sometimes sit and wonder if PJ could have been a better book if I had worked harder. Maybe more people would fall in love with both the story and the characters.

I know that this next statement isn't true, but I can't help but think Phantom Janitor wasn't good because I wasn't good enough at writing the story. I had the passion and the drive but I feel like I might have lacked the ability. I am always inside my head bashing myself about the things I did wrong and Phantom Janitor always comes up... And now that I have gotten better as I write I feel like the passion is slipping away.

But I have learned something.

These last few months I have come face to face with apparent depression, something that was always more of a secondary concern for me... It sucks... But it made me realize something. I obsess and worry about things and my brain tricks me into believing things that I really shouldn't.

Phantom Janitor wasn't my best writing, but I should gosh darn proud of all the work I put into it. I should let the criticism push me to get better and possibly fix some of my mistakes I made. Fill up some holes.

This is something I have needed to get off my chest for awhile because it has been tearing at my mind and as I have been writing my post, everything I am writing here is becoming much clearer to me.

Thank you for being here and supporting me with Phantom Janitor. I can't think of another group of people I would've shared that story with. And I hope to bring more stories soon, and make you smile as you read.

This post doesn't have a title? O.O Does that even make it a post? Am I even going to post this? Maybe. Maybe not. But hey. I could. It wouldn't be the weirdest thing I have done.

Now that I got a little bit of humor in this post, it is time for some serious talk. I started this blog because I thought it was a fun way to share. But I find that I don't share my writing as often or with as many people I want to. I always get asked by people who know me (in my small town) when I am going to write another book. And I always joke how I'll have one as soon as I finish one. And recently I have had the opportunity to take some time and work on some things I am proud of.

This blog has been fun and I by no means want to completely stop posting, but as it has become apparent... I can't seem to keep myself on posting every week. And it's sad because sometimes I lose interest.

But there are other reasons too. I am open with very few people. Even people who I consider close friends. And I just want to be more honest about myself and my writing.

I want who I am as a person to reflect in my writing. Not aspects of me. I want to write about the world as it is. Yes I still want to write furry things or fiction in general, and I am not going to change that. But I do want to write about real things. Things that happen in life.  Some good and some not so much.

As this blog continues, and hopefully it will... I will come clean about some things that I want to be comfortable talking about. My issues with my depression, my issues with religion, my issues with who I am as a person. I just want to make sure I am comfortable with being in my own skin and being real when I write. I did this in Phantom Janitor. When I told people I was writing myself into Derrick, I was mostly talking about his depression. How he doesn't feel good enough because people have been pushing him down.

Now this my not be the intentional case with me, I have been very lucky to have a strong support system over the past few months in my father and some very good friends. And hopefully being honest with these issues on my blog can help me piece things together in my life. Just by jotting feelings down and telling others.

And that leads me to this feeling of wanting what I write to be real. There are things in our life that either make us happy or make us miserable. Every human being has them and they are defining points in our journey of life.

Depression
Anxiety
Work
Distraction
Choices
Friends

These things have proven to be constant things through my life and most likely other lives too. And these are not horrible things. Except the top two. Those things are not good. But they are a part of life. As are many other things.

There are other things that are apart of life that are also constants too. These things are more divisive when it comes to humanity as a whole

We may not agree when it comes to discussions of religion, sexuality, politics, what humans as individuals should and should not fight for. And all of this is apart of our world today. And since these things are apart of life, they are all material to be used. On both sides of the equation. On some topics I don't myself know what to believe nor do I think my writing should help you determine that (God Forbid that.) But I would like it if you guys stood by me as I write from the real world and maybe just learn some things about the world with me.

I will still keep my writing safe for everyone. Okay. Rant over.

Kamryn Scott Interview!

Hello everyone. The character interviews start today. Today being Saturday evening! When I am at work but somehow am still able to get a post up. As usual, I am here with one of my many characters who may or may not actually want to be here.

Kamryn: At least you're using that Journalism Associates for something.

Yeah. Even in spite of failing that one semester of college.

Kamryn: Nice tag-team burn.

Thank you. Glad you're being agreeable.

Kamryn: Well the twenty bucks you paid me not to act out sure is helping.

I thought we agreed not too mention that...

Kamryn: Get on with the questions.

Okay! Let's start it off light and silly. Do you like the outdoors or the indoors better?

Kamryn: I really like a fair balance of either. Indoors is nice, but I also love to hang outdoors. I am not really too picky.

If you could be any type of Tree, what Tree would you be?

Kamryn: Um... Trees? I don't know much about trees. Can I be a person named tree? Because there was that cute character from that one Happy Death Day movie named Tree. Can I be her? Because she was a boss.

What's your favorite sandwich?

Kamryn: Philly Cheese Steak! Greasy and Cheesy!

What is your personal definition of success?

Kamryn: Hmmm... Well... I guess just getting something done could be considered successful. I have kinda low standards as far as life goes...

Favorite genre of video game?

Kamryn: Horror is my favorite right now. I am currently playing Bendy and the Ink Machine.

Have you ever kissed someone in exchange for casu marzu?

Kamryn: I-I'm sorry! What?

Here. I googled it on my phone...

Kamryn: Um... Oh my god... Can I kiss someone without the Casu Marzu?

Why would you have to ask me? It is your life.

Kamryn: You're the best.

If you had to pick one place in the world to go where would it be?

Kamryn: Disney! Disney is awesome!

If you could change your name, would you? And what would you change it to?

Kamryn: Honestly, just my last name so I wouldn't be associated with my brother. You'd be looking at Kamryn West.

What do you think of pineapple on pizza?

Kamryn: I love it. And if you have a problem with that, you are a...

EXCUSE ME. Please do not threaten my audience. NEXT QUESTION. Whats the heaviest thing you've lifted?

Kamryn: A piano!

Jarrod: YOU DID IT AGAIN?!

Jarrod. You had your time. GET OUT. Actually No Wait! Stay. Here's one you might like. Rawr Rawr Rawer?

Kamryn: I am afraid I don't speak... whatever that is?

Jarrod: Oh.I hope it's flirting for me.

Kamryn: You'd flirt with anything that moves, weirdo.

Jarrod: That's not true! I didn't flirt with those folks from Toledo...

Kamryn: They were criminals. Honestly, I respected you for that.

Jarrod: If that is all. I am gone.

Goodbye then! Okay. I have one silly question before I move to a few more serious ones,

Okay. If a train leaves Detroit at ninety miles an hour, and you could be any type of animal you wanted to be, what kind of sound does a tree make?

Kamryn: You've got to be kidding. HA! A red panda, and trees sound like the wind whistling through a tea kettle with the voice of Whitney Houston.

And now for the serious questions. Why did you run away?

Kamryn: Well then... You get right to juicy ones don't you. I was... having some disagreements with my family on how I was living my own life. I couldn't take the pressure... So me and my friend Abi ran off... That was how we got kidnapped...

This one could go with this... what disappoints you the most?

Kamryn: Lots of things... But if I am going off of this question. I was disappointed when my family decided to turn on me. I was basically was pushed to run. Family was basically reduced to bull crap for me.

What is your greatest fear?

Kamryn: That one day... I would wake up to find out I am stuck in the same horrible situation that I was stuck in... That some of the people who are in my life now wouldn't be there anymore and it would be all my fault.

That seems rather dark... But that is what they wanted to know.

Kamryn: Yep it is.

Thanks to everyone who sent me questions for this character interview! For those of you who sent Korey questions, you will see that interview up within the next few days.

Have a lovely rest of the weekend everyone!

Character Interviews WILL start back up!

I have definitely decided to start the character interviews back up again! :)
And I have picked the two perfect characters to ask for questions for!
Yep! That's right! I said two characters! I will be writing some character interviews in advance to increase my amount of posts! :)

The first character I have chosen is a personal favorite of mine.

Her name is Kamryn Scott and she is a teenage girl who was kidnapped when she was 14 (Or 12... Haven't exactly placed the time yet...) She is a strong-willed girl with a super strength not unlike the strength of Superman. She is easily irritable, but she usually has good reason to be. She can sometimes be a little bit quick to violence. She likes video games, punching things, apples, and has an addiction to all things scary. She hates oranges for some reason and doesn't like to talk too much about her family, especially about her relationship with her brother Korey Scott.

And our second character is... Yes you guessed it! Clarence McGillicuddy! X3 Just kidding. It's Korey Scott!
He is Kamryn's younger brother who was kidnapped after he went looking for Kamryn, who had run from home after her parents discovered a secret she was hiding. He is a more easy-going guy, with the power of flight. He likes doing nothing a lot. He is a rather lazy person when it comes to doing tasks and following rules and prefers to just follow his own rules, which drives his power-hungry sister crazy. He also likes video games like his sister, but he also enjoys binge-watching Netflix, ice cream, and wearing hoodies.

If you have questions, please put them here!
:D LOOK! A CLICKY THINGEE. DO IT BOIS.(AND GIRLS! ANYONE CAN CLICKY!)

Have a wonderful day! You should be able to see the first interview post within the next few days! :D Love y'all!!!

Sunday, December 2, 2018

Things have been busy and I have been lazy.

Yep. That's the title I am going with for this one. :/

Honestly, I probably have more apologies for not posting on this blog than I do. But I am really hoping that I can honestly change that and begin posting things more regularly. I have been writing my own projects a lot more, my work is going well, and if I can post something at least weekly then that will be a great accomplishment. And I have been really wanting to start some more character interviews so I will be updating and trying to see if I can find a better way to store interview questions/make more content.

Anyway, for now I shall say have a good day!

STORY SNIPPET TWO!

So some of you seemed to like the last story snippet and to let you all know... It was from a horror story! Good job to all who attempted to guess! Now here is another story to try and analyze.

This is another HOOMAN story. Just to clarify

The man looked around, “Listen, I can’t explain right now… Just go.” He gently pushed her forward and she fell into the hole.

“AHHHHHHH!!!” She screamed as she dropped down the hole. She winced as she hit the bottom. “OW!” She looked around, and was amazed. She had fallen into a room, a room that looked like one of the underground bunkers that the military used to use as a base of operations

A young man with jet black hair and blue eyes walked up to her and extended his hand to help her up, “You okay?”

Michelle took his hand and he pulled her up, “Yeah…” She shook his hand, “I’m Michelle…”

The young man smiled, “Michelle Skinner, Oh yeah, been expecting you! My name is Wyatt.”

Michelle froze, “How do you know my name? What do you mean you’ve been expecting me? Where the heck am I?”

“Well, Skinner…” She jumped as the man came up behind her. “You’re in the Underground.”

Michelle’s eyes widened, “No way… This is the Underground!?” She turned to the man, “Then who are you?”

The man smirked and extended his hand, “General William Hayes, at your service.”

Michelle’s eyes widened and her jaw dropped, “Wha... You… Oh my gosh!”

Wyatt grinned, “Yeah, I did that too!”

The general snickered, “Yeah for some reason my name is pretty popular right now… Still, I usually go recruit new soldiers myself. That way I don’t have to risk anyone, but myself.”

“Wait, What? Are you…” Michelle’s face was a mix between surprised and freaked out.

The general’s smirk widened, “Yes, Private Skinner. When I say you are in the Underground, I mean it in more ways than one.”

Michelle was too stunned to say anything.

The general turned to Wyatt, “Go ahead and take her to the tech room to get measured for a uniform. Then… Maybe you could show her around.” He winked.

Wyatt blushed as he led Michelle away to the tech room.

The general watched them walk away with a smirk, then left to attend to some other business.

STORY SNIPPET ONE.

WHO'S READY TO PLAY... GUESS THAT GENRE!

Hello Scribbly friends. :) Welcome to a new thing I will be doing over these next few weeks. The way this will work is I will post a story snippet for you to read on this blog every few days, and I will give you the viewer a chance to see if you can figure out what the genre of the story is. Some of you will know, others may not. But that's all in good fun. ^-^ And for an added bonus, you can try t explain your reasoning as to why you made your choice in the comments. Are you ready? Because here is Snippet #1

A lonely red Subaru drove down the dusty highway, the two people inside were as quiet as the highway outside. The driver, Caroline Benson, gave her husband a side glance. He avoided her glance by keeping his eyes facing the window.

She cleared her throat. “So when are we going to talk about this, Ben.”

Ben kept his mouth shut, continuing to keep his eyes on the passing desert.

Caroline forced out a laugh. “Oh that's right. We only ever talk about our issues if they are bothering you.” She shook her head. “That stunt you pulled in front of my parents was not necessary.”

Ben turned to look at his wife. “I was being truthful!”

“When they asked if we were thinking about kids, you made a huge show of leaving the room.” Caroline snapped.

Ben put his face in his hands. “They ask us everytime, and to be honest it is annoying!”

“They want to be grandparents, Ben! Can you really blame them for bringing it up?”

“Yes. I can. They have been doing it for the last three years! And plus, I don't think they like me.”

Caroline let out a genuine laugh. “Gee, I wonder why.”

Ben crossed his arms. “Do you want me to apologize?”

Caroline sighed, “You can. I am pretty sure I am not the only one you owe an apology to.”

Ben looked back out the window. “I know… And I really am sorry…”

Caroline glanced at him again, and reached over to grab his hand. “I know… And I do forgive you. But we really do need to talk about maybe having kids.”

Ben cringed a little. “Kids… I have never liked them… They are loud, and quite annoying.”

Caroline chuckled a little. “From what your parents have told me, you were not exactly an angel  as a kid. So that's pretty hypocritical.”

Ben looked back at her. “Fine. You win this...”
